MUMBAI: Ever since Travelling on the sea link was no longer toll free, traffic has come down to 10 to 20 per cent of what it was earlier.However, First accident has been reported at the Bandra-Worli Sea Link - a car banged into another that had broken down on the bridge on 07 July 2009 in the evening. Nobody was injured and both vehicles were towed away in 15 minutes, the police said.
"The wheels of an Esteem suddenly got jammed and halted on the Worli-end of the link when another car banged into it from behind. Both cars were damaged,'' deputy commissioner of police S S Solunke said.
The cars were soon moved to one side of the link to avoid disruption of traffic. A crane then towed them away from the bridge. Traffic on the link slowed down but there wasn't a snarl.
