Bandra Sea Link Project

“The sealink would be ready in December 2008 as the dispute between Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) and Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) has been resolved,” Public Works Department Minister, Anil Deshmukh said.

The dispute between the two bodies was over the increase in project cost, which was Rs 400 crore earlier, and now it has gone up to Rs 1,306 crore. HCC had suspended work on the project since May 2007, demanding the excess cost. He said HCC has started the work again as the state granted an additional fund of Rs 112 crore for the project.

Jun 2008 SeaLink Photo 2

Here's a lovely view of the Bandra-Worli Sea Link taken near the Bandra Reclamation side.
This middle long cable pillar is exactly opposite facing Shivaji Park, Mahim.
The small boats and marine equipment are static with no one inside. Again, being a Sunday, I couldn't get to click the construction people.

The BandraSea Link photo that you see below is taken on 01-June-2008.
I had been on this sunny day all the way from one end of Mumbai to Bandra West and capture the beauty. Notice how broad the pavement is. This is just one view from the Taj Lands side.
Being Sunday, the construction worker's were off I guess... We didn't see anyone working on it atleast on this side of the Bandra Worli Sea Link.

Also notice how the towers in Prabhadevi Look from this view. If you remember Kal Ho Na Ho, it resembles the Newyork-Manhattan Bridge where Preiti Zinta and Shahrukh Khan had a talk.
